About Us
We are still looking for volunteers to join our committee. Although volunteers are always welcome to help work on the canal itself, we are particularly keen for individuals who can help in any other capacity. This could be organising events, working on funding applications and generally participating with the non physical work that goes on behind the scenes.
The Group has received advice and support form a number of organisations and individuals and the following have agreed to serve as advisors, in a personal capacity.

PCCG has also received valuable advice and support from the Inland Waterways Association and is represented on the South Wales Branch Committee. The Group was accepted as a Corporate Member of the IWA in December 2010.

The Group aims and objectives are:
- The restoration, reconstruction, preservation and maintenance of the Glamorganshire Canal and the former canal structures in Pontypridd and surrounding areas.
- The conservation of the canal as an inland waterway, wildlife area and amenity for the benefit of the general public.
- The education of the public in the history and use of the Glamorganshire Canal.
- The recognition and celebration of the contribution of the canal in the development of Pontypridd and the surrounding area, particularly its use by the Brown Lenox Chain Works.
