Apologies for the delay in updating our website. It's been a difficult time for everyone during the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.
Progress has been somewhat limited due to the various restrictions we were all under but we're back at it with a renewed vigour. With the staircases having now been re-set and rebuilt, our focus now is on resetting the coping stones on lock 31, removing the remainder of the small dam under the footbridge and repointing the majority stonework within the lock chambers. For those of you who have maybe recently visited the site, you may have noticed that we have been supported by a few organisations generous enough to give us a helping hand. A BIG thank you goes out to Terry Davies and the work crew from Griffiths civil engineering and construction who coordinated support for us. Ben and Andrew from Ngage who generously provided us with PPE clothing and Steve from Rugbi who provided us with safety footwear for use on site. Needless to say, we are still looking for volunteers who are willing to assist us with the administrative work of the group, particularly on the social media side. If you are interested or would like additional information about the group or the work of the committee, please get in touch by email with your preferred contact method and we will contact you.
